Platform Transition Kit Explained
The Platform Transition Kit is a set of licenses designed if you are still
using MetaFrame 1.8 and want to migrate to MetaFrame XP but not at this
time.
Platform Transition Kit licenses are MetaFrame 1.8 licenses that can be
fulfilled to MetaFrame XP later.
If you are running a MetaFrame 1.8 farm, install Platform Transition Kit
licenses on the MetaFrame 1.8 servers and activate them.
When you decide to upgrade to MetaFrame XP, install the licenses on the
MetaFrame XP servers:
1. When licenses are added to the Citrix Management Console, the format of
the licenses changes to a MetaFrame XP license format; that is, XXXXX-
XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX- XXXXX.
2. After the format changes, you put the new format of the licenses, along
with the machine code, on the My.Citrix Web site and activate them.
3. To get the subsequent feature release licenses, follow the normal Fulfill
Eligible Product procedure.
IMPORTANT! Do not confuse the Platform Transition Kit licenses with
migration licenses.
Migration licenses are required if you have Metaframe 1.8 servers but do not
have Subscription Advantage.
