CTX107920 - Not Able to Browse Client Drives After Installing Service Pack 4 for MetaFrame XP or Later This document was published at: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX107920 Document ID: CTX107920, Created on: Nov 2, 2005, Updated: Nov 3, 2005 Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003 Symptoms After applying Service Pack 4 or later to a MetaFrame XP 1.0 Server, client drives cannot be browsed, using Explorer, from within an ICA session. This behavior is also seen with MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 and Citrix Presentation 4.0. When attempting to manually map the client drives, the client network shows a + sign but expanding the icon does not do anything except remove the + sign. Cause Starting with MetaFrame XP Service Pack 4 and later, the security of Client Drive Mapping was enhanced to coincide with that set by the policies governing Client Drive Access. Both the ?Client Drive Mapping? and ?Connect Client Drives? policies are set to not map or connect client drives. Note: If the policy is set to allow only certain drives (for example: the client?s floppy drive A:) then only those drives can be browsed. Resolution This behavior is by design. It is considered a security issue in most environments that if mapping and connecting to client drives is disabled, the intention is to also not allow browsing of the drives. CTX238200 ?
