Summary

There are times when Citrix Technical Support needs to ask a customer for
virtual memory details and process handle information when one of the processes
experiences a memory leak (unusual large size). There is a way to capture all
the information at once by using Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com.

Procedure

1. Download Process Explorer from:

http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml

2. Run Process Explorer and go to View > Select Columns > Process Performance
tab and select the columns:

3. Locate the problem process from the process tree (here HelpSvc.exe is
consuming 240 MB of page file).

4. Choose File > Save As to save Process Explorer data:

5. Check the saved file to see if it contains the handle information for your
process:

Process PID Description Company Name Private Bytes Virtual Size Working Set

?

HelpSvc.exe 17636 Microsoft Help Center Service Microsoft Corporation 242,668 K
278,552 K 186,528 K

?

Process: HelpSvc.exe Pid: 17636
