Symptoms
Upgrading to MetaFrame XP Service Pack 4 from MetaFrame XP 1.0 Service Pack
3/Feature Release 3 may fail with the following error message:
?The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.
This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2869?
The following Event is seen in the Application Log:
?Product: Citrix MetaFrame XP Server for Windows with Feature Release 3 -
Update 'MFXPServicePack4' could not be installed. Error code 1603?
Cause
If MetaFrame XP 1.0 Service Pack 3/Feature Release 3 was installed using a
transform with the value CLIENT_UPGRADE=?No?, the installation of Service Pack
4 will fail.
Resolution
Change the value of the CLIENT_UPGRADE parameter in the cached transform file
to CLIENT_UPGRADE=?Yes? and restart the installation.
The cached transform file can be found in the
%WinDir%\Installer\{05095D7E-4BA8-405F-A751-5C5C18BF5045} directory.
