CTX105759 - Internet Explorer Unable to Display Menus when Speedscreen Browser Acceleration Is Enabled This document was published at: http://support.citrix.com/kb/entry.jspa?externalID=CTX105759 Document ID: CTX105759, Created on: Jan 25, 2005, Updated: Jan 25, 2005 Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003 Symptoms When Speedscreen Browser Acceleration is enabled, Internet Explorer is unable to display menus, adjacent to JPEG or GIF images, generated by JavaScript. Cause SpeedScreen Browser Acceleration intercepts MIME types rendered on the server by Internet Explorer and provides additional compression over ICA. In menus generated by JavaScript, adjacent to JPEG or GIF images, this rendering fails because of conflicts within Internet Explorer and SpeedScreen Browser Acceleration. Resolution If the image adjacent to the menu that is displaying incorrectly is a GIF, follow these steps: 1. Open the Internet Explorer session where the problem is observed. 2. Go to Tools > Internet Options. 3. Choose the Advanced tab and scroll down to the Multimedia node. 4. Enable the Play animations in web pages checkbox. 5. Refresh the page to assert the workaround. Note: If you have a policy to restrict Internet Explorer, most likely the Advanced tab will not exist and thus the policy needs to be revised to include that option. If the image adjacent to the menu that is displaying incorrectly is a JPEG, turn off SpeedScreen Browser Acceleration. More Information CTX104735 ?
