We are connected to an "unmanaged" Clinic and Urgent Care, we don't really have any control over their processes, equipment, etc. They simply rent computing time, mainly Medical Apps that ride on my Citrix servers. Here is their setup: Some PCs (but not part of the question.) 4 Win2K-SP4 Terminal Servers. They connect to these via old Wyse thin clients and then launch the Ica Web Client to hit my farm inside their TS session. Each of their 4 Terminal Servers supposedly have the exact same printers defined on them. Now for the good question; When their users hit a Xenapp 4.5 server all of that session printer s are created on the server. I can have 6 - 12 users attached with the same printer set, but I only see each printer once. I think this is because they have their term servers setup in a way that the AMA on m servers see the exact connection name, different TCP ID, but same name. So, when the first user logs in the printers get auto-created, but when a second user from the same terminal server logs in do they get auto-created again? It doesn't appear so from the printers I see on the server. So if that is the case the second user is using the printer created by the first user's connection? OK, what happens when that first user ends their session? Normally the server will destroy the printers and all is well, by design. What happens in the TS environment when all other connections from that TS "seem" to be accessing the printer created by the first connection? I know, kind of a weird question, but I'd love to know some of the works behind the theory.
