If you use redirected folders then it will break several folders when a new user logs in. The KB states it might require two logins to fix this, but it is wrong, the folders like Quick Launch need to be manually fixed on the network drive. I would recommend turning it off, it adds a couple of seconds to the logon process but ensures that the network resource are ready before winlogin trys to redirect to the network locations.
