It's not that you have local but map caching turned on with the XP Client is
it?

Just an idea?

Best regards,

Phil

Oke, I understand that difference, but can you explain why it is exremely
slow on WinXP (too slow to use) and running smoothly on win2k client
workstations?

The stangest thing is that the citrix session is slow, so logged on to e.g.
application desktop on a Dual 1.4Ghz server the performance is like a 386
with windows installed. Connecting to the same app from a w2k client it
runs fine. Also when shadowing the session on the server (the one running on
the winxp client) and working in that shadowed session on the server shows
th sloweness is on the client and not in the session itself.

Maybe it's a tuning thing, but I can't find anything about it so far........
I tried various settings with the ica client from going as fat as possible
to as thin as possible with every time the same result.

I'm running blank on this one.

Greetings
Rob

Hi Rob,

The FW-1 VPN client is slower than, say CSG, but the biggest factor is often
a virus checker running on the client.

Hi,

For a customer I installed a FW-1 VPN client on a winXP client.....it turned
out the response when working on Citrix is slower than slow. Comparing this
with my own laptop (w2k), on my own laptop it runs normal.

Anyone had any similair experiences with FW-1 VPN clients on WinXP? The vpn
client is the Checkpoint 1 VPN remote NG

any ideas are welcome

grx
Rob
