MessageI believe the latest NetZero (with 5X browsing performance!) uses a local software proxy to speed up page loads. This same technique is being proliferated by Earthlink, AOL, Enternet and lots of other ISP's. If that's what is causing this particular problem, we can expect to see lots more of it in the future. I would think that would mess up a Citrix connection. it's funny, some of the best dial up connections I have ever gotten back to my citrix farm has been from the free netzero and the old free AltaVista dialup. Not sure if this problem is limited to the $14.95 Netzero plan or both NetZero dialups. If anyone has any more info on this error, it's cause or a fix, please add to this thread... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brian Claus, A+, Network+, MCP Network Administrator WESCO Distribution, Inc. 225 West Station Square Drive, Suite 700 Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1122 Phone: 412-454-2412 Fax: 412-454-2540 bclaus@xxxxxxxxxxxxx -------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: Roger Riggins [mailto:roger.riggins@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, December 08, 2003 5:30 PM To: Claus, Brian Subject: RE: Proxy connection failed: Internal error during proxy evaluation Yeah, it was the ISP?. NetZero. Even with the proxy settings removed, it still wouldn?t work. I had to uninstall NetZero, then reset defaults in the ?advanced? section in Internet Options, and choose default options for Internet in the ?security? section. Luckily she just switched to NetZero today (they love to tell you things like that after you?ve asked once already and been on the phone for an hour) so she still had her old ISP account. Can you find out what your user's ISP is? We are thinking it's the user's ISP that has a proxy. My user hasn't gotten back to me as of yet so I can't prove the theory. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brian Claus, A+, Network+, MCP Network Administrator WESCO Distribution, Inc. 225 West Station Square Drive, Suite 700 Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1122 Phone: 412-454-2412 Fax: 412-454-2540 bclaus@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -----Original Message----- From: Roger Riggins [mailto:roger.riggins@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, December 08, 2003 4:08 PM To: Claus, Brian Subject: FW: Proxy connection failed: Internal error during proxy evaluation Did you ever get this resolved? " Proxy connection failed: Internal error during proxy evaluation. " Per Citrix, this is because the client's ISP is using a proxy. There is no resolution.
