That looks like the sort of thing we need. I'm not 100% sure if my app uses
Simple MAPI or ordinary MAPI (or if there's even a difference) and it
appears that it's a server level change (which I have no control over)
instead of a client level change but batting balls into other peoples courts
is one of my specialities!

many thanks.

Posted this originally with an attachment but never appeared so have
tried again without the attachment.

We had a similar problem with one of our packages and had to install the
Outlook Security feature from the Office Resource kit. It works by
creating an Outlook Security Public Folder with a form in there. The
form is then accessed by Outlook on load up and takes it's necessary
security settings from there.

If anyone is interested in the readme file I have, let me know off-list
and I can forward on.

I'm in the process of piloting a system for the secure transfer of
doctors referrals letters to hospitals. It encrypts files and emails
them using whatever MAPI compliant mail system is installed on clients
PCs. It works perfectly but unfortunately Outlook 2003 pops up a warning
whenever an external program tries to send mail and asks for
confirmation from the user. That wouldn't be too bad but the "yes"
button is disabled for several seconds after the window appears, which
is annoying if lots of transfers are taking place.

Does anyone know anything about this feature, ie can it be turned off or
can the delay before the yes button is activated be removed?
