Actually I think that you have to upgrade to 5.5. I believe the reson
is that e5.5 is the only version of Exchange (other than 2k) that uses
LDAP and in order to import it to 2k you have to have LDAP running on
the source and the target

Subject: [THIN] Exchange 2000

Hi everyone - Happy holidays.

Hopefully somebody has seen this problem before.

We have an NT4 PDC server running Exchange 5.0 and we just put in a new
W2K
server with a different domain name running AD and am trying to run
Exchange 2000 setup /forestprep to import from the oldserver and keep
getting the following error:
"Setup encountered an error while attempting to bind to the Exchange
Server
"Oldserver"; 0xC1010A91 (2705); An unknown error has occurred."

I have created a trust between the two domains and gave the new domain
admin full permissions to the Exchange 5.0 server and configuration
properties.

Any ideas of what I can try. Will this work - going from 5.0 to 2000
without going to 5.5 first?

Thanks in advance

Dave
