I thought Performance Guard and egInnovations more comprehensive as
monitoring solutions - there is scope for adding components for monitoring
of other services such as Active Directory or Microsoft SQL to give an
overview of an entire service. Edgesite is focused on monitor your Citrix
servers and the client access to them - so potentially you need other tools
to assist in troubleshooting once you've got to the fact that the issue is
'well its *not* the citrix servers'

That said, Edgesite comes from a background of application performance and
reliability analysis and provides a wealth of information on application
debugging that would be great if you had a lot of application reliability
problems - say maybe you have a lot of custom written apps.

But when I looked at prices, I thought it was expensive in relation to other
solutions.

Pinpoint was also impressive as a monitoring solution for your farm - and
I'd be tempted to say more cost effective especially for small/medium size
farms than the others

Never really looked at NetQos

Subject: [THIN] Edgesight vs other opinions

Hey guys,

I have been evaluating Edgesight for a little while and I read some time
back that these products were comparable:

Netqos

Premitech's Performance Guard

egInnovations

RTO's Pinpoint

Any of you guys want to state your preferences? Iand others would be highly
interested...

Thanks,

Mark
