We looked at changing the shell but we lose the functionality of the taskbar. Users would have to Alt + Tab key when they switch between applications. The desktop is completely locked down the only problem is when a user resizes the taskbar it resizes the web browser that they are no allowed to resize. Once they reboot the browser is set back to it's original size. I know that in Windows XP you can lock the taskbar but I have not seen this in Win2K -----Original Message----- From: Magnus [mailto:magnus@xxxxxxxx] Sent: August 1, 2003 7:27 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Disable Windows Task Bar Move and Resize if you are just using this for Nfuse how about replacing the shell (explorer.exe) with Internet Explorer It might be easier -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Selinger, Stephen Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 5:52 PM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Disable Windows Task Bar Move and Resize Good Afternoon, We are developing a stripped down Windows 2000 kiosk image. This image will be used to log onto a Nfuse Portal. The only problem we are having is trying to disable moving or resizing of the Windows taskbar. I want to lock it in at the bottom of the screen and not allow users to move or resize the task bar. Anyone had success with this before. Thanks in advance.
