[THIN] Client printers refuse to autocreate

Trying again!
I have a Windows 2000 Server (all SPs, updates) running TS (no Citrix) that
refuses to autocreate client printers.
The two printers attached to the client are an HP LJ 4000 and an HP LJ 1200.
This is the only client with printers attached.
Does this sound like a compatible driver issue or is there a switch in the
terminal server to allow autocreation? Does autocreation possibly require
opening another port?
