My understanding of this is that AutoDesk developed a "Self Hosted"
version with Release 2002. They only marketed it to their premier
license holders (50 or more). And because of lack of interest scrapped
the version.

Most resellers didn't even know about it because premier license holders
deal with AutoDesk directly not through the reseller channels. I was
able to get in contact with some AutoDesk people and they did some
research for me.

My understanding is that it doesn't exist and it never really made it to
market.

        Hi Jeff,

I believe the AutoDesk have it available under special
conditions.

        regards,

Is that special code something that AutoDesk will give customers
or is that something that someone else has developed?

                Hi,

If you're talking about more than 50 users, AutoDesk
have a special code version that allows multiple instances(more than 2)
on a terminal server system.

Alternatively you can also get creative by simply
renaming the executable, which lets you run 2 instances of each named
version of the executable.

One issue with AutoCAD 2006 is that users have to have
the SeCreateGlobalPrivilege right to run AutoCAD. See Microsoft KB821564
for more info.

We ran it many times over the years with surpisingly
good success. It has been a little while, but last time we looked at it
AutoCAD did not support multiple concurrent sessions on a TS box due to
licensing. You might check out the status of this is multiple sessions
are required....

It looks like I may have a need for AutoCad on Citrix.
Has anyone tried this? If AutoCad does not work how about a good viewer
that works in Citrix?
