Under the duct tape and bailing wire method... IS the application accessing this file because it is in the path or using a variable? Depending on how it gets that C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32 path, you can remap the drives, map the users local drives to an alternate letter and either map the home drive or the rootdrive to c:\ Now the users have full access to this drive, but it is their own. If a variable is used then you can play with the env. Variables. The problem is how the application works (or doesn't) if the drives are remapped. It's not the best way, but it is A way. After installing it on my test box I found that it = creates, writes to, then deletes the file C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\TEMP.TMP = during starting up. As a normal user doesn't have write access to this = directory the application falls over in a big heap. If I give them Full = Access to SYSTEM32 the application works fine. I have tried various = things, including creating the file manually then giving the users full = access and dening delete, but this didn't work. I have contacted product support and they have confirmed it is a known = issue, however they are unlikely to fix this issue as they have very few = users (I may be the one only) that use Citrix so don't see it as = problem. I have a bad feeling about opening up Full Access to my SYSTEM32 = directory on live servers. Would you agree this is a bad thing to do? = Would you do it? Can anyone think of a way around this issue? I would welcome any comments on this, even if its "don't do it!" so I = can go back to my bosses.
