Sascha,=20

That option is certainly doable at this site. However, my preference
would of course be to remove the users ability to even see FTP as an
option. Since I've seen posts in various places mentioning issues with
restricting access to this option with Office versions dating back to
office 97, I'm kinda thinking I'm going to have to go with the
workarounds on this one.=20

Placing restrictive permissions for users on the files that are used to
add/modify FTP locations only causes errors within Office.=20

Thanks for the response, if a valid solution other than a work around is
found for this, I will make sure to pass it on.=20

Hi Jim=3D20

We ran into the same issue and decided to block FTP access by using a =
=3D
Security Policy (block Port 21 outwards). Would be interesting to hear
of other solutions ...

I'm having a hard time finding a way to get rid of the 'add/modify FTP =
=3D
locations' option from within the open / save dialogs within Office
XP.=3D20 The office XP ADM templates have nothing for blocking access to
this, =3D there are apparently no associated command ID's, and the =
little
bit of =3D info I've found on the web about blocking access to this =
seems
to =3D indicate that the only option is to 'disable' FTP entirly from =
the
=3D system by forcing it to use a non-existant proxy from within =
IE.=3D20

Anyone tackled this one before and gotten it out of the drop-down list =
=3D
for saving entirely?

Thanks,

J
