Betreff: [THIN] CTFMON.EXE - Getting Rid Of

Hi folks;

Does anyone know of an easier way to deal with getting rid of Office =
XP's CTFMON.EXE process, other than the rather cumbersome procedure =
documented in [Q]282599? I can't find anything using the Office XP Group =
Policy templates or general Office settings. I've got it all over a =
Citrix server I'm trying to stabilize, and unfortunately it's an =
accounting firm that's working 24/7 from now until April 15th....

The MSKB is full of dire warnings about what happens if you simply =
remove the process from Startup. Is this typical Microsoft FUD, or do =
things truly go south if you disable the process?
=20
One suggestion I saw on another list was to replace CTFMON.EXE with a =
dummy executable (!), as it kept loading anyhow after the removal =
procedure was followed.

have received this email in error, please add some nutmeg and egg =
whites, whisk and place in a warm oven for 40 minutes.
