Windows users always keep their eyes open for Update Tuesday news, so they can
get their hands on the latest security patches and bug fixes from Microsoft.
However, the monthly Tuesday ritual may fall by the wayside as Windows 10 will
change all of that. The new operating system will put an end to Update Tuesday,
because Microsoft will automatically send out the latest fixes and updates to
users throughout the month.

[Microsoft Executive Vice President of Operating Systems Terry] Myerson
promised that with the new version of Windows, Microsoft will release security
updates to PCs, tablets and phones 24/7, as well as pushing other software
"innovations," effectively putting an end to the need for a Patch Tuesday once
a month.

Myerson made the announcement at Microsoft's Ignite 2015 conference. He also
took the opportunity to bash Google for failing to make sure its customers
receive prompt updates for their gadgets.

Hopefully, Microsoft's new software updates for Windows 10 will make computers
safer by ensuring that customers receive updates quickly and efficiently.

The goal, he said, was to make users of all stripes more secure by constantly
feeding updates down the pipe, across all devices once Windows 10 is launched.
Update for Business will be a free service for enterprise and pro Windows
customers.

People who use Microsoft products in their homes will receive the updates
before businesses. That's a safeguard in place so that businesses can see how
to the new updates work before installing them to avoid bugs.
