BlankThis is too bad if anything goes wrong with the Jambox, or even if it
needs
a new battery. Hopefully, the battery could be replaced if the speaker is
disassembled.
Kind of sad since they built in speech feedback for this speaker.
Jawbone begins liquidation, report says Jefferson Graham , USA TODAY
LOS ANGELES Jawbone, the once popular fitness tracking and bluetooth speaker
company,
has exited the business, according to a report in The Information . Jawbone,
once valued at $3 billion, has begun liquidation proceedings, says the report.
Co-founder and CEO Hosain Rahman has founded a new company called Jawbone
Health
Hub that will make health-related hardware and software services. A
representative
for Jawbone declined to comment. Existing Jawbone products like the Up fitness
trackers are listed on the company website, but without links to purchase.
Amazon mostly has used editions for sale, and Best Buy features one older
Jambox
boombox for $129. The move by Jawbone isn't a surprise'reports of a potential
shutdown have been around for quite some time, exasperated by the slow
response,
if any to Jawbone's customer service. Jawbone got locked in a heated battle
with rival Fitbit that resulted in multiple lawsuits. Online reviews are
brutal.
Yiannis B. wrote a 1 star review on Google this week "Support permanently
closed. Have sent 20+ emails. Never got even an automated reply. On Amazon, a
customer named "Happy Feet," wrote in May that the Jawbone Jambox speaker
stopped producing sound, and attempts to communicate with the company were
challenging. "What shameful customer service! ...any company that goes to that
degree to avoid supporting their customers, is not worth patronizing. '
