Saturday, January 14 from 10:30-12:30 Al Puzzuoli, Information Technologist
from
the MSU RCPD is back with the BTBL Computer Club again. Al will be covering a
variety of Google products and their accessibility. He will speak on Google
Docs, Google Calendar, Google Chrome, as well as the Google Conference he
attended in Dallas thanks to yours truly.
One hour after the BTBL Computer Club ends the BTBL Book Club meets from
1:30-3:00. We meet in the BTBL public service area located on the first floor
of the Library of Michigan across from the elevators.
January's book is DB47958 The Victorian Internet, the remarkable story of the
telegraph and the nineteenth century's on-line pioneers by Tom Standage
History of the invention of the telegraph, which was the technological marvel
of
its time. Describes how the machine changed the way the world operated,
including its direct effects warfare, espionage, and love affairs. Provides
anecdotes about the inventors, hackers, and cheats.
