thursday: checked out the loons at offat's ... they were very close to 61st near the causeway lafitte's cove: didn;t stay long but orchard oriole, black and white warbler and louisiana waterthrush sportsman: blue wing, green wing, black bellied, redhead, widgeon and gadwalls ... a solo golden plover and a couple of fresh killdeer chicks ... dunlins, marbled godwits occupying a dock ... solo common loon in gang's bayou texas city dike: one common loon on north side in one of the fields on 8 mile rd i found this mystery bird http://s1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff500/rporter314/Mystery%20Birds/ photo 1 shows a golden with mystery bird behind it for size comparison photo 2 is a side view and photo 3 is a frontal the black breast and white face has thrown me off ... i think it is in transition but don't know if from light to dark or dark to light also i think the photo labeled red throated i believe is a red throated loon but i don;t know what the left hand loon is in the unidentified photo any help would be appreciated .... thanks ray porter highlands texas TEXBIRDS help file and Texas birding links at: http://moonmountaingroup.com/texbirdsEdit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds
