the c circulation around it still has the southern Texas coast with SE
winds (relatively light) while light NW winds affect the northeastern
stations. A disconnect still exists between W wnds from N South America
ands the NW Caribbean and the Yucatan Peninsula. This linkage should be
reestablished as soon as the High moves east of Louisiana. When this occurs
moisture will return off the Gulf and rain chances are forecast to increase
beginning Tuesday, the 5th.

Until next week things look stable with some fairly light arrivals daily
but where winds have shifted back to the S many of these birds will
continue well inland. Regardless, a small number of migrants will be
present in coastal stop-over sites with increasing numbers of female and
one year old birds. Returns today showed flocks moving right along the
beaches and many of these were probably Franklin's Gulls. Inland flocks
were likely Mississippi Kites with residual numbers of Broad-winged and
Swainson's Hawks and Turkey Vultures. A flow of what were probably swallows
were crossing Galveston Bay and the narrow "waist" between Eagle Point and
Smith's Point.
