Greetings All:
Cameron Carver and Steve Collins just had to find a Long-eared Owl in the
arboretum adjacent to Clapp Park early this afternoon, drastically altering my
plans for the prevening.  From 5:10 to 6:10 I checked out the park, noting
thirty species of birds with the following highlights: 10 Blue-winged Teals, 1
female Northern Pintail, 1 Sharp-shinned Hawk, 17 Black-necked Stilts, 1
American Avocet, 18 Long-billed Dowitchers, 1 Long-eared Owl (WOO HOO!), 7
Chimney Swifts, 1 Orange-crowned Warbler, 1 Nashville Warbler (quite early),
and at least 2, possibly 4 Wilson's Warblers (quite early).
