Not sure I understand this, but would this not highlight in detail a
location that the landowners would rather not be made public to such a
degree. ?

I am sharing my stakeout Mexican Violetear personal location in order to
pool observations for this bird while it was chaseable. Typically, the
simple solution for accurate reporting and keeping the map "clean" is to
create a hotspot that is easily findable on the map that birders can select
either directly in the field or merge their personal location with at a
later time once they have cell coverage or wifi access. However, in this
instance, the hotspot editor felt uneasy about creating a stakeout hotspot
for this bird. But, there's a work-around. It involves sharing a personal
location with other observers.
Please follow these simple instructions in order to merge your personal
location with mine. You will click on the following link to accept this
shared dummy checklist. Once accepted you will have my shared personal
location in your list of locations. You will then merge your personal
location with the shared personal location "stakeout Mexican Violetear, RR
1051 nr. Reagan Wells (2019)".
