After a suggestion from Philip Rostron, I re-examined two photos of the
waterthrush that I had submitted to eBird and agree that the bird is more
likely a Louisiana waterthrush than a Northern waterthrush. In 35 years of
birding I have not seen a waterthrush with as much yellow wash and bold
striping so I quickly went with my first choice of Northern Waterthrush. I
also should have been concerned more about the early date.
