lots of purple gallinules out
found several families with adults teaching the black downy chicks the fine art of eating the haute cuisine on shoveler pond also found common gallinules chicks swimming about and several older purple gallinule chicks already in brownish plumage stepping out on their own finding the chicks answered one of my questions about these chicks ... they are black and have an unusal bill = red base, banded in black and white very neat

1 apparently just fledged seaside sparrow was very pale with nice clean markings and almost no tail
1 wood stork circled overhead
1 red tailed hawk at anahuac entrance
a couple of probably king rails keking up a storm near observation deck ... maybe they were upset about the least bittern which landed in the same area

out on 124 was a belted kingfisher

yacht basin rd:
good assortment including avocets, spoonbills, semipalmated sandpipers, reddish egret, solitary sandpiper and a couple of clapper rails posing

rollover pass:
oyster catchers, 2 white morph reddish egrets, ruddy turnstone
