Hello, Texbirders
Mary Beth Stowe came into the interpretive center early this afternoon
(12/09/14) saying that she taught she heard a *Winter Wren* calling in the
Forest Trail while she stood on the Dragonfly Pond Deck.

I went to check it out after lunch and I was able to hear the calls she was
talking about and after a short search I got a look at a Winter Wren from
inside of Forest Trail. It was working through the tangles of Brazilian
Pepper that grows out of the Dragon Fly Pond.

Coming into the Forest Trail from the north entrance, the bird was in the
tangles 20ft. to your right. If you crouch down a bit there's a couple
of open spots where you can look through the tangles and get clear looks at
the forest floor.

I was able to get a recording of the call with my phone.
