TexBirders,

Hoping for a rare raptor or other waterbird, I spent about 4 hours hiking trails on the San Gabriel River near Granger; also visited Willis Creek Park on Granger Lake. Nice morning but nothing unexpected among fewer than 40 spp. Few herons/egrets, no waterfowl or waterbirds on the lake. Zillions of swallows. The only slightly unseasonal sightings were a nice adult Swainson's Hawk and a single adult (?) Tree Swallow among the hordes of "Clave Swallows".
