Fermin Torrez, Harvey Laas and I had a nice day birding Waller and Grimes
Counties. Waller Highlights:
1) First ever Waller County Red-Breasted Merganser (5,581 previous Ebird lists)
photographed female at US290 westbound access rd just west of James Muse
Parkway in Prairie View. 2) Hairy Woodpecker at Camp Allen (Waller County
portion) on Darrell Vollert's field trip. Grimes County highlights (44 species
at Camp Allen (Grimes County portion) on Darrell's field trip: Red-breasted
Nuthatch, Brown Creeper, Hairy Woodpecker, Franklins Gulls, Golden-crowned
Kinglet.
