I had to do a bunch of year end errands this morning. After a quick visit to the Hwy 71 vet office I drove down Old Hwy 71and had a nice Zone-tailed Hawk as a flyover....I think this is well within the Lost Pines CBC area but have no clue who has that area so just a heads up for tomorrow.....A count week bird at any rate. Brent says a Ringed Kingfisher was found on the Amarillo CBC....Awesome....Makes the one on the Brazos NE of Abilene seem almost tropical. Proctor Lk., Comanche Co. 2nd-3rd hand reports allow there are "mergansers" and gulls on the lake....We would appreciate more info on that, especially me as I drive pretty close to there around the 5th weather permitting.. A Say's Phoebe is still at Lometa Res. Lampasas Co.as of Christmas Eve. Also a "unknown species" of loon....I was there on the 10 or 11th, and had 3 loons and took them all as Commons but maybe I was wrong...I did see the Say's hanging out in the willows by the picnic shelter areas. If there are any accessible Purple or Cassin's Finch's, there are folks wishing to know where. I have no known locations. Also a RB Nuthatch. Please post to the list not me on these. Enjoy the day....I have not checked the critter cams so you may not be done with me yet today.... ********************************************************************** Brush Freeman 503-551-5150 Cell http://texasnaturenotes.blogspot.com/ Finca Alacranes., Utley,Texas Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
