A nice hot walk this morning (Tuesday, election day)at Cook's Slough.  After a
couple years of very limited water it is so nice to have wild flowers for the
viewing pleasure and for the birds and butterflies.

This morning I started my walk with a Verdin up close and personal in the
Nature Park's Parking lot.  This bird usually likes to hop around trees but
this one was very content to sit on one branch for a good period of time and so
I took twenty pictures.

Also today I got to take some pictures of a pair of Pyrrhuloxias.

The Ani was not vocalizing today but I'm sure he is around and will probably
have others shortly.  Brian from Bracketville will probably report on it if he
observed it today.  He was arriving as I was leaving.

Have a great week and Summer!
