Hi Texbirders and Pelagic fans,
The weather is still looking very favorable for this Sunday with only 3 foot
seas forecast. This is very good for this time of year. We now have 16
people signed up and really need a few more to help us keep the price per
person reasonable. If you're thinking you'd like to join us and search for
the Black-capped Petrel and whatever other rare seabirds could be out there
at this time of year now is the time to contact me and sign-up.
We know this is also a good time of year for all the jaegers and even a
remote possibility of Skua. The only record for the Gulf of Mexico was found
on a Texas Pelagic trip on 10/1/2004. There was also a Red-footed Booby
reported offshore Louisiana on eBird earlier this week. Great Shearwaters
and Cory's Shearwaters should also be present. You just never know what
exciting birds we can find.
