Howdy All!
Winter birds are here. Just like several areas of Texas, we are getting our
fair share of Red-breasted Nuthatches all over the park. Yesterday was very
productive with a White-crowned Sparrow, unusual for us, hanging out with Song
and Lincoln's Sparrows at our spillway. A single LeConte's Sparrow was the
highlight of the day. It was also on the dam with the other species.
Today's best was a Purple Finch at the Blackjack Nature Trail.
Come on out and bird with us Nov. 10 at 8:15 am and see what else we can find.
Meet at the park headquarters building and we will hop in the park's van and
tour the park.
