Howdy All!
It was a beautiful morning at Tyler State Park. I took a turn around the park
getting ready for this Saturday morning's bird tour. The forest started off a
little quiet but the birds were there. Today was a woodpecker day. All seven of
the woodpecker species that typically occur at the park were seen and heard.
Ruby-crowned Kinglets are arriving in good numbers and I also had a couple FOS
House Wrens.

I am planning on another scouting trip around the park on Friday morning,
October 9th. I am going to start a little after 8am and bird a couple of hours.
If anyone is interested, you are more than welcome to join. If you can't make
the Friday scouting trip then join us Saturday, October 10th at 8:15 am and we
will tour the park and find some birds. This Saturday is also our Migration
Celebration. We are having a birding 01 program at 10:30am, bird art activities
at 2pm and a Woodpecker walk at 3:30pm. Bring your families, kids or grandkids
and join in the fun.
