Texbirds:
This morning there was a female/immature Tropical Parula at the Matagorda
County Birding Nature Center just west of Bay City on Hwy 35. The bird was
foraging in a tree on the south side of the main building, near the butterfly
garden there. The bird could not be relocated for photos shortly after the
original sighting.
Also present at the park were Black-throated Green, Nashville, Orange-crowned,
Yellow-rumped and Wilson’s Warblers. A flock of 43 Anhingas kettled over the
park at about 10:30 and a Barred Owl was somewhat cooperative above the creek
that runs along the east side of the property.
