.
Piddled around west of Austin today with a friend for the morning. Stopped
at fancy pants HEB on 71-Bee Caves Rd. for groceries. Came out and had a
nice kettle of Anhingas circling overhead as I was loading my chow in the
truck. We had a few other birds but nothing unexpected for the date. On
71 near Garfield had two Scissortails flying over the traffic. At the
house a few Black-and-whites and a Hooded Warbler at the bird baths,
Blk.-bellied Whistling Ducks circling around at dusk as they have been the
last week or so.
Been out every evening since the 20th for Whips at the "make or break"
time of dusk but so far nada. Soon, any evening now. Time when the first
ones always show up...Maybe with the next south breeze..
Bobcat walked across the yard but did not go to water so no critter cam
shot. Still have one cam to check though.
