One more thing that I am curious about...Harder to pin down for me, is the
last avg. date that I hear males...It is a moving target here in Bastrop
Co. but I am going with about April 20...I personally feel I am seeing just
about the peak call time for males over the next few days. Some weather to
put them down may help. There are always stragglers, but I don't recall
having a calling May bird recently .

have a fairly short window of time both as to when and how long they call
at dusk/dawn, but also the time they migrate through our area.....The
mostly if not totally silent females can be found for weeks afterwards

calling males in the fall migration here in Utley, but not very often

after a long very hot afternoon when it takes will power or some other

insights..I am basing this on what I have learned where I live..I
