I watched a squirrel come out of an Eastern Bluebird nest
hole with a live nearly fledge-sized baby bluebird in its
mouth. That is, an almost fully grown young. It couldn't
have a few days from fledging. The parents were both going
ballistic on it. I bet the squirrel went back and got the
rest. This was a Fox Squirrel at Utopia Park a several
years ago.
I saw a picture of one taking a baby starling somewhere,
which also seemed a nest-robbing event.

Has anyone else observed squirrels eating birds?
