In today’s online â€œCosmos”, an aggregator of science new often focusing
on climate change, is an interesting article on how the early arrival of spring
is affecting 9 species of migrant songbirds, all but one of which are common
migrants through and to Texas. The effect is that these 9 species are either
arriving and nesting before or after the optimum time for the insect boom that
accompanies spring.

An outcome of this is reduced nesting success and likely diminution of these
species.

It seems the effects of climate change are pretty much everywhere.

Best,
