Spent a couple hours birding with Gabe De Jong and my dad this morning. Right as we were leaving the condo, Gabe and Dad spotted a beautiful Cerulean Warbler! A lifer for me and Gabe! http://www.flickr.com/photos/olivaceousj/9537175543/ As we came home from birding, with an enjoyable stop at the SPI Convention Center and a quiet one at the Valley Land Fund lots, we saw another good migrant warbler in the same tree as the Cerulean - a female Blackburnian Warbler! http://www.flickr.com/photos/olivaceousj/9539966478/ Dad postulated that maybe the counterclockwise wind movement over the Gulf could be pulling some migrants over this way, as neither species shows up here much in fall migration. -- John Brush Edinburg, Texas Interpretive Guide Quinta Mazatlan WBC Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
