Good morning all! I apologize for the grammatical errors in my post last time! Pretty active morning today at the EWBC, the Green Kingfisher popped up again at the Dragonfly Pond, this time it was a female, and I also saw a Little Blue Heron stop by that pond yesterday afternoon, probably looking for an easy to catch meal! I had visitors report a Painted Bunting a bit ago along the grounds, however I was not able to find it, but I'm sure it's around! Below is a complete list of sightings from this morning: Edinburg Scenic Wetlands WBC (LTC 061), Hidalgo, US-TX Mar 22, 2013 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM Protocol: Area 40.0 ac 45 species Black-bellied Whistling-Duck 35 Fulvous Whistling-Duck 33 Gadwall 4 Mottled Duck 4 Blue-winged Teal 105 Northern Shoveler 130 Green-winged Teal 45 Canvasback 1 Individual canvasback spotted at North Pond Lesser Scaup 10 Ruddy Duck 15 Plain Chachalaca 5 Least Grebe 2 Neotropic Cormorant 11 Double-crested Cormorant 3 Great Blue Heron 3 Great Egret 1 Little Blue Heron 1 Common Gallinule 4 American Coot 45 Black-necked Stilt 27 Spotted Sandpiper 1 Long-billed Dowitcher 8 Inca Dove 2 Common Ground-Dove 2 Buff-bellied Hummingbird 2 Green Kingfisher 1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker 1 Great Kiskadee 4 Couch's Kingbird 1 White-eyed Vireo 2 House Wren 1 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2 Hermit Thrush 1 Northern Mockingbird 5 Long-billed Thrasher 1 Curve-billed Thrasher 1 Black-and-white Warbler 1 Orange-crowned Warbler 2 Common Yellowthroat 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler 5 Wilson's Warbler 1 Northern Cardinal 4 Red-winged Blackbird 30 Great-tailed Grackle 10 House Sparrow 10 Have a great day!
