A little bit of movement at Anahuac NWR noted today. A morning visit to the
Jackson Woodlot found a Black-and-White Warbler and a Hooded Warbler. By early
afternoon, there were two Black-and-White Warblers, probably two Hooded
Warblers, and at least one Worm-eating Warbler along with a Scissor-tailed
Flycatcher.
There was a definite upsurge in numbers of Swamp Sparrows, five being in the
Jackson Woodlot and three in The Willows. Later an Ash-throated Flycatcher was
seen near to the Skillern Tract, and three Black-and-White Warblers were
reported in the Skillern Tract.
A Glossy Ibis was with White-faced at Shoveler Pond, and a Ring-necked Duck was
still present. There was also a sprinkling of both species of whistling ducks.
