A couple from Pennsylvania joined me on today's bird walk, and a few
others joined us along the way. The huge highlight was two Northern
Beardless-Tyrannulets at different places along the Willow Lakes
Trail. The first was completely silent and along the north corner of
the trail, feeding with a flock of yellow-rumped warblers, and the
second was solo, calling incessantly along the westmost stretch of the
trail, not far from the Chachalaca Trail. We spent about 10 minutes
with this bird and it was very cooperative. (It was a life bird for
me!) I promise I have the directions/locations straight this time.

The four Fulvous Whistling-Ducks continue, seen best today from the
covered blind on Chachalaca Trail. Two female hooded mergansers also
remain, viewable from the dike just west of the Chachalaca Trail.

Visitors reported a Gray Hawk from the hawk tower this morning.

Bird walks are offered daily, and leave the visitor center at 8:30 am.
