I have enjoyed 3-4 Rufous Hummingbirds the past week. They were new arrivals
that did NOT winter in my yard (first spotted 2/5) . Yesterday (2/12) about 5
p.m. I witnessed two following each other, flying way up high, then heading
north. One, an immature male with a very brown back and a gorget about half
finished developing, did not come to the feeder this morning. Put a feeder out
of you feed hummingbirds. Rufous are on the move, possibly starting their
journey northwest to their nesting sites.
