Nathanial,

I don’t think that many(Texas) birders recognize the high plumage variabil-ity 
existing in those populations we “tag l” as Harlan’s. If you have the 
opportunity,  scan through one of Bill Clark’s well-illustrated “ltreatises” on 
these bEautiful birds.
