 Hello All!

The Olive Sparrow is still around, Naturalist Assistant Javier
Gonzalez spotted it singing away along the grounds earlier today! He's
also spotted some Ruby-throated Hummingbirds going straight for the
Turk's Cap, looks like they're making their way through once again. I
spotted some Orchard Orioles along the grounds yesterday (Thursday
8/22), as well as a Hooded Oriole, which was great to see as well! A
Tricolored Heron has been hanging out at the new canal overlook, along
with some Black-bellied Whistling Ducks.

Javier spotted some Fulvous Whistling Ducks at South Pond, along with
various shorebird species, which included Spotted Sandpiper,
Long-billed Dowitchers and Least Sandpipers. Of course, there were
other species of shorebirds which I have yet to identify
(1-shorebirds, 0-Monica!). There were also some Wilson's Phalaropes,
as well as what seemed to be a Black Tern perched on a post sticking
out of the south pond water.

Overall, the activity seems to be picking up along the grounds pretty
quick, we can't wait to see what pops up next! New sightings seem to
be occuring along different areas of the Valley already, which is
pretty exciting!

Below is a complete list of sightings for our site for today:
