Looked out the window this morning to see a single Purple Finch hanging on
the peanut butter log feeder – not eating, just staying out of the rain
under the squirrel baffle. Not a new species for us, only the second one
recorded here. We banded the first back in the 1980s. We are located near
Mansfield Dam.
