Sorry for the garbled post. I accidentally hit "send" before I was 
finished. Arriving trans-Gulf migrants appear to be arriving in the Grande 
Isle vicinity of the southeast LA coast.

Subject: Observation of bird migration using weather forecasting 
technology, 3/31/15   
 Upper winds are mild (15 kts at Texas stations, 10 at Louisiana stations) 
and SE to SW. The main activity today is again flocks of kettle-and-glide 
diurnal migrants (likely raptors; largish flocks of Swainson's Hawks have 
been reported and Mississippi Kites should be showing up any day now). Most 
activity is just east of McAllen in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and 
Migrants are arriving at Grand Isle
