All,
Please be patient. When reports are received from an "eBird Trail Tracker" and
the contact person is a site (or former) employee, there's no way to contact
the original reporter. What I know is second hand.
Last I heard this report is unconfirmed. I heard that a NWR staff member (also
a good birder) went in search of it after a report from visitors. Since I
didn't hear back from him I presume he didn't see it. Winds were 20-25mph this
afternoon, so conditions were quite windy and not optimal for seeking this
reclusive bird.
Stay tuned. But when it comes to eTT reports, remember, anyone can enter them
and they often are untraceable.
If I learn anything about this bird I will share with the list.
The RBA is posted at rgvbirds.BlogSpot.com. Reports of rare birds are
appreciated!

Subject: [texbirds] Masked Duck at Santa Ana
Howdy Texbirders
Saw a post on eBird regarding this species and location. Any follow up
information would be appreciated.
Thanks
